To move Stata files between Windows, UNIX and Macintosh requires no conversion, files are compatible among all systems on which Stata runs. To move files simply use FTP, but remember that when you FTP Stata data files (ending in .dta) to use binary transfer. When you FTP .do or .ado files use ASCII transfer.
