Stata Teaching Tools:  Two Normal Distributions

Purpose:  The purpose of this program is to display two normal distributions with vertical lines drawn at their means. 

Download:  You can download this program from within Stata by typing findit zdemo (see How can I used the findit command to search for programs and get additional help? for more information about using findit).

Use of program:  To use this program, type zdemo2 mean1 sd1 mean2 sd2 in the Stata command window.  

Example:  The following shows the output from issuing the zdemo2 command with distribution 1 having a mean of 45 and sd of 10 and distribution 2 having a mean 52 and sd of 5.  

. zdemo2 45 10 52 5
