Installing ATS Stata Programs to a Machine without Internet Access

If you have a machine without internet access, here is how you can install the ATS Stata Programs.  This version of the programs were last updated August 10th, 2003.  If you need a fresher version, email ATSstat@ucla.edu to request a fresher version of these files.

This requires a fully up to date Stata version 8 to work properly.

  1. Download the file atsado.zip

  2. Save this file on a CD or other device

  3. Copy the file to the computer without internet access. Say you place the file on c:\atsado .

  4. Unzip atsado.zip to a directory. The path of this directory must not contain any spaces. We recommend that you unzip it into c:\atsado .

  5. Start Stata

  6. Within Stata, type
    cd c:\atsado
changing c:\atsado to the directory you chose.

  7. Within Stata, type
    do copyatslocal
This should install all of the ATS Stata programs.
