This page describes how to obtain the data files for the book Regression Analysis By Example by Samprit Chatterjee, Ali S. Hadi and Bertram Price.
Getting Files Over the Web
You can get the data files over the web from the tables shown below. The leftmost column gives you the description of the data file, followed by the data file in a SAS Data Step, and then the raw data file. The data sets are ordered by chapter number and page number within each chapter. The name of each file is Pxxx.sas.txt.txt (for the SAS data step) or Pxxx.txt (for the raw data files), where Pxxx is the page number xxx in the book where the data are given.
You can click on the "SAS Data Step" and it will open up the file in your browser. You can mark the text and copy and paste it into SAS, or you can choose to save the file onto your computer.
The raw data files are all in text (ASCII) format, so that they can be read by different software packages and different work processors. The variable names are in the first row and the columns are delimited by spaces.
