Legend for Tags used in Stat Computing Bookmarks and Bookmarks by Topic
Each bookmark has one or more "tags" associated with it. These "tags" allow
you to focus on bookmarks that are of interest to you. The Stat Computing Bookmarks page and Bookmarks by Topic Pages have three broad categories of tags,
described below.
- StatPackages - The particular statistics package(s) a bookmarked
page refers to (if any). For example, SAS, Stata, SPSS etc...
- StatTopics - The topic(s) referred to by the bookmarked page. For
example, Regression, ANOVA, SurveyAnalysis.
- TypeOfPage - The type of page that is bookmarked. For example,
CourseNotes, FAQ, OnlineBook.
Here are further explanations of the tags we use
- StatPackages - Not much more to say here, it is the name of the
statistics package.
- StatTopics
- ANOVA - Analysis of Variance as well as Analysis of
Covariance and related topics.
- Basics - Basic issues in statistics and data management
- CategoricalAndOrdinalOutcomes - Pages describing how to handle nominal
outcomes
- ConfirmatoryFactorAnalysis - Confirmatory Factor Analysis,
excludes exploratory factor analysis (see FactorAnalysis)
- CountOutcomes - Outcomes that are count variables.
- DataInputOutput - Issues involving input of data into a stat
package, or outputting data from a stat package.
- DataFilesAndDocumentation - Pages describing where to find
data files, especially commonly used public use data files, and
documentation associated with the files.
- DataManagement - Pages discussing how to prepare and manage
your data before analysis.
- FactorAnalysis - Exploratory factor analysis (not confirmatory
factor analysis)
- Graphics - Graphical display of data.
- IRT - Item Response Theory
- LatentClassAnalysis - Latent Class Analysis
- LatentGrowth - Latent Growth Models (e.g. via structural
equation modelling)
- LatentVariables - A broad catch all category of models that
involve latent variables.
- Logistic - All forms of logistic regression, including binary
logistic, ordinal logistic, multinomial logistic, and so forth.
- LogisticBinary - Binary logistic regression
- LogisticMultinomial - Specifically multinomial logistic
regression
- LogisticOrdinal - Specifically Ordinal logistic regression
- LongitudinalModels - A general category including models
involving the analysis of longitudinal data
- MANOVA - Multivariate ANOVA, Multivariate ANCOVA, and related
techniques.
- MissingData - Techniques for dealing with missing data,
including multiple imputation, MICE, etc...
- MultilevelModels - Multilevel Modeling (could include
students within classroom type models or longitudinal models).
- Multivariate - A broad category including the most general
multivariate techniques including MANOVA, Factor Analysis, etc..
- Regression - OLS Regression and related techniques
- ScaleDevelopment - Issues concerning the development of
scales (but not IRT), e.g. item development, reliability analysis,
validity
- SurveyDataAnalysis - The analysis of complex surveys, e.g.
involving PSU, Strata, Clustering, etc...
- SurvivalAnalysis - The analysis of survival data.
- TypeOfPage (For Stat Computing Bookmarks)
- CourseNotes - Course Notes used as part of a statistics
course or seminar.
- eMailList - MailList, ListServ, NewsGroup, etc...
- FAQ - A page with frequently asked questions
- Journal Article - A journal article published in a scholarly
journal, usually a .pdf
- OnlineBook - An online book, possibly a .pdf but also could
be in the form of web pages.
- PageOfLinks - A page which contains numerous links to useful
resources.
- Paper - A paper (perhaps published, perhaps not).
- Tutorial - A tutorial explaining a particular topic.
- TypeOfPage (For Bookmarks by Topic)
- AnnotatedOutput - Output from stat packages with explanations
- CodeFragment - Just the code showing how to do a particular task
with little or no explanation.
- FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions (with Answers!)
- LearningModule - A short tutorial on a particular topic in data
management or statistical analysis.
- Library - A more extensive page on a particular topic in data
management or statistical analysis, sometimes at an advanced level.
- Seminar - An online seminar (sometimes with movies) on a
particular topic
- TextbookExamples - Shows how to replicate examples from
statistics books using common statistical packages.
