walk-in consulting hours.
- How many? You may borrow up to two books at a time.
- How long? You may
borrow books for two weeks.

- Returning books: Please return books during regular
consulting hours. If you cannot stop by during regular consulting
hours, you may return your book(s) to Software Central, MS 4933.
Software Central is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Please do NOT:
- leave books on the floor outside of the consulting office.
- mail books back to us, as they tend to get lost in the mail.
If you know that you will be going out of town, it is your
responsibility to return your book(s) before you leave.
- Where to buy the books?
Once you have borrowed a book, you may find that
it is a book that you would like to own, and you would like to buy your own
copy. Here are tips on
different places you can buy these books.
-
www.Walmart.com - Often we find that Walmart
has the best prices, often well below all competitors.
-
www.directtextbook.com - This site compares prices on New and Used
Textbooks, helping you to find the best price.
-
BestBookBuys.com - This service
compares the prices among many competitors, but we have sometimes found better
prices at Walmart when we manually checked their price.
-
http://www.sas.com/apps/pubscat/complete.jsp , SAS Publishing - The
source for books specifically geared towards SAS, especially the "Books By
Users" titles.
- http://www.stata.com/bookstore/ - The source
for books specifically geared towards Stata, with data files associated with
the books.
- Amazon.com & Barnes
& Noble.com - A terrific selection, carrying almost every book we have
ever looked for.
- Ecampus.com &
VarsityBooks.com - Not as wide of a
selection, geared more towards textbooks you would find for undergraduate and
graduate courses, but often very good prices on these kinds of books.
- The UCLA Bookzone
- Allows you to search their database of titles and to see what is in stock,
saving you time and shipping charges.
