Using the Script Editor
You can submit syntax to SPLUS through the command window or the script window. Using the script window allows you to edit the current or previously used syntax where as using the command window will only allow you to edit the current syntax. The end result of using the command window is that you end up doing considerably more typing than if you use the script window. To engage the script window to start a new script file:

Output Routing
The default setting for the output is the Report window. If you are using point & click this might be a very useful setting. However, if you are working in either the script or the command window this might be less convenient since it entails having to click between two windows to view the syntax and the results. In this situation it could be convenient to change the output routing settings and this is how it is done:
The script output refers to the bottom part of the script window. This allows you to look at any part of the program in the top part of the window while simultaneously looking at the result in the bottom part of the window. The commands refers to the command window and by using this routing the results will appear in the commands window at the prompt. If the window where the output has been routed to is not open then any submitted commands/syntax will bring up the window with the results in it.
