The Modeling Lab

The ATS Modeling Lab is an interdisciplinary computing facility available to UCLA graduate students, staff, researchers, and faculty researching new technologies for digital scholarship. The lab maintains a wide variety of three-dimensional computer modeling, graphics, GIS, and archiving software applications on high-powered workstations with specialized graphics cards. Lab users are encouraged to work together to solve common research problems thereby fostering a nurturing and collaborative work environment. In addition to the Modeling Lab, a well-equipped video editing production environment is available to lab users. ATS staff can also provide consultation on project management, software analysis, project promotion and dissemination, and technical project support. Researchers, students and faculty that use the lab and related facilities come from a variety of campus units including Geography, Architecture and Urban Design, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Earth and Space Sciences, Theater Film and Television, Atmospheric Sciences, Music, Design | Media Arts, Near Eastern Languages & Cultures, Spanish & Portuguese, Urban Planning, the UCLA Medical Center, and Physics and Astronomy.
