Job Summary Statement: Under the general direction of the Manager-High Performance Computing Applications, provide a leadership role in planning and Implementing high performance computing and visualization environments. The environments include clusters of machines, machines with multiple CPU's and usage of these systems for parallel processing and high end visualization. Research, develop and implement complex experimental and development projects. One example of such projects is UCLA grid Project (ucgrid.org). Provide leadership for the investigational, developmental, maintenance, and associated activities. Confer with faculty and researchers to determine their computing/visualization requirements and provide strategies for best meeting them.
