The Saxon cluster is an OSG tier3 cluster belonging to
Professor David Saltzberg
of the UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy.
The Saxon Cluster is set up for use by particpants in the CERN Large Hadron Collider Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment.
Only those associated with high-energy physics at UCLA will be given local login ids on the the Saxon Custer. Contact Professor Saltzberg for permission. You must apply for a login id on the Saxon Cluster and select his name from the sponsor list as your facutly sponsor.

Members of OSG-participating Virtual Organizations (VOs) can submit jobs to the Saxon Cluster as VO members.
- Compute Nodes:
- 11 64-bit AMD Opteron machines each with two dual core CPUs (total four cores), 4 GB memory and a 160 GB hard drive.
- Login Node:
- Similar to the compute nodes except with 2 250 GB hard drives.
- File Server:
- Has 12 500 GB disks. Contains user home directories, $OSG_APP and $OSG_DATA.
- Network:
- A Private GBit LAN connects all nodes.
