The openhouse script displays custom scenarios in the Portal with buttonfly menus.
To Start
At the shell prompt, enter: openhouse
Enlarge the buttonfly window that appears. Do not maximize it, or it will spread over all 3 screens. Do not use the space bar to toggle to full-screen display, because when you go back and forth with 3 screens it tries to use all 3 screens at once and gets stretched out of shape.
To Run a Scenario
Left click on a colored button once. Be patient; it may take 10 seconds to start up.
To Backup a Level
Left click on the background.
Be sure to exit each scenario before continuing.
To End
Press the ESCAPE key to end openhouse (buttonfly). or, select Close from the top left window control menu button of the buttonfly window.
On each buttonfly screen, there is a button named Change Archive.
Click on that button to see a new screen with the 4 possible video
archives. The button for your current archive is grey, if you did not
use the -a flag when starting openhouse, and will not do anything.
Click on a colored button to change the video archive. It will do an
endsession and log you out. Login again and change the projector's
archive setting.
Several screens have blue buttons such as:
Cleanup vrNav
Cleanup dx Orphans
Cleanup Imagine Orphans
Cleanup Particles
After you finish running a demo, click on the appropriate cleanup button.
Run make_openhouse to generate a new set of
demos for openhouse to use.
You must have group staff1 in order to use make_openhouse.
It will ask you to supply a keyword handle for the new set.
This keyword is an arbitrary name of your choosing.
It will display 4 lists of available demos, by archive. You edit the lists, deleting or moving lines. The order of the demos in the lists will be the order of the buttons on the openhouse buttonfly screen.
When you have finished the 4th list, it will ask you if you
want this keyword demo set to be the real one that the
openhouse script uses. If you say yes, it
will remake the appropriate symbolic links and you can
use your new demo set by entering openhouse
at the shell prompt. If you say no, it saves the keyword demo set
and you can enable it at a later time using the
make_openhouse script and selecting your keyword.
